Volunteerism is on the rise these days. But so are the reasons behind people being willing to spend their time helping someone else without getting paid. Some do it as a way of learning new things, giving back to the community, and relieving stress to alleviate depression symptoms. Others, well, we have all encountered some along the way, those who volunteer to produce boasting power for their social media profiles. The question is: have societies begun misusing volunteerism for their own greedy purpose?
