Our guest today is the duo Piperlain.
Formed by singer/songwriters Benjamin Knight and Rebecca Voorn-Knight the duo combines the sounds of acoustic, indie alternative folk/rock/pop and electronica with emotive, passionate vocals.
Originating from The Blue Mountains, west of Sydney, their sound is heavily influenced by music from the 90s has been described as “poetic” and “quirky” by The Grove Studios and “emotive” with “layers of depth” by Sony.
Piperlain made the finals of the B&T Mad week Battle of the Bands where they received commendation from Sony on live performance and song writing talent.
In 2017 Piperlain released the concept album “Mother Mourned”, which recounts the personal and emotional journey of two people growing up with and caring for mothers with serious illnesses.
This year tier released an Ep album “Time”that is the first release for Piperlain since Mother Mourned in 2017.
Featuring songs written during the early stages of collaboration between Piperlain artists Ben and Bec, was originally scheduled for release in 2019 but delayed due to the pandemic.
