For our first interview Nancy Jackson and co-host Carolyn Boller have a conversation with Dr. Barbara Shannon-Bannister, an award
winning Community leader in the Denver Metro Area. Dr. BSB was raised in New Orleans where she studied piano, violin and voice and was an activist for civil rights. Dr. BSB has a long list of accomplishments, including twenty-five years as the Chief of Community Relations for the City of Aurora.
Here is a link to the Aurora Sentinel about her life's work.
In this podcast we refer to Senator Rhonda Fields; follow this link for some context for that section.
In the interview we mention Dr. BSB's African-American performing art organization, Grand Design. It can be found here.
