In this introductory episode, our host speaks about Ama Ata Aidoo's incredible ongoing literary legacy which is our reason for beginning this podcast with an anthology in her honour. Through this anthology, these poets—you will hear from in subsequent episodes—have attempted to re-canonise Aunt Ama Ata Aidoo. Having been inspired by her iconic ongoing body of work, they hope to continue in the rigor of the exceptional literary tradition she is credited for. We also have an amazing guest presenter in Dr. Nana Aba Kwenua Pobee reading one of our favourite Ama Ata Aidoo poems.
