I will break down some statistics from 2020 and beyond and how we can pivot in this evolving job market. 

Topics today: 

  • Labor market is cooling down and what does that mean for jobseekers?
  • How do we pivot and adapt as a jobseeker? 
  • How do we learn from rejection emails or being ghosted by a company?
  • How do we cater our resume to a job description?
  • Hiring across the U.S. was 4.9% lower in November compared to last month and is down 20.5% compared to November 2021. 
  • Hiring in the Tech, Information and Media industry is now at its lowest level currently since July 2020–a sign of over-hiring in the space and how the organizations are retraining their current workforce rather than laying more staff off.
  • In December 2022, there was nearly one to two job openings for every active applicant on LinkedIn.
