UK Inflation around 2.9% so not so low - given that target inflation is usually 2% for the country - we believe we said it was 1% or so during the show.

Fee's:

All funds have fee's which are charged by the fund management firm e.g. JP Morgan Asset Management will charge you 0.5% per year. But that’s all you should pay.

When I said you shouldn't pay fee’s for investment advise, I mean one off fee’s such account opening fee’s or subscription fee’s, redemption fee’s etc. Most platforms will not charge any additional fee’s; however more customised wealth managers will charge you fee’s in addition to what the fund management firm will charge.

Children are only liable for tax on savings income above 17,500. The form referred to (R85) is no longer in use.

Child Trust Funds were discontinued in January 2011, and replaced by Junior ISAs.
