Episode S1 07 - James' Story

Listen Later

On today’s episode James tells he’s story.

(Just a warning for our listeners. In this episode we discuss the loss of a child)

As discussed in the episode there are some fantastic charities out there that do some great work around stillbirth and child loss.

The first charity I experienced was 4Louis:

4Louis - Memory Boxes for Child Loss, Charitable Organization

They provided a memory box for us in the hospital. They also provide Cuddle (cold) cots to Maternity units. They can be found on:

We then spoke about Sands:

About Sands | Sands - Saving babies' lives. Supporting bereaved families.

Sands exists to reduce the number of babies dying and to support anyone affected by the death of a baby, before, during or shortly after birth. As well as general groups which are open to all parents and other relatives, we have some specific groups for partners, including:

· A closed Facebook group.

· Online support meetings

· Activity-based peer support, particularly football based.

They can be contacted:

I’d also like to give a special mention to:

East Kent Baby Memorial Gardens.

They have taken over the Sands memorial garden in our local town. They do a fantastic job maintaining these grounds.
