Becoming Wild

Episode Six: Reframing Worth the Interview

Listen Later

This is the sixth episode in season one of Becoming Wild.

Content warning: the conversation includes the topics of death, grief, infertility and Christianity in the context of harm.

It is the last episode of three on "Reframing Worth" and focuses on an interview with Stephanie Jenkins. Stephanie is a Soul Companion, educator, and sacred space holder. She is passionate about deepening our relationship to our own embodied wisdom, our connection to sacred earth, and our participation with divine mystery. Through 1:1 soul guidance as well as community gatherings and courses, Stephanie holds a safe and inviting container for women to break free from the cultural conditioning that's kept us tame so that we might connect to our inherent belonging, revel in the goodness of our bodies, and unfurl into the true shape of our souls. Stephanie lives with her beloved partner of 20 years in northeast Los Angeles, where she shares her love of words and stories as an English teacher in the public schools. In addition to making big creative messes and banging on her drum,  Stephanie enjoys weekly wanders in the San Gabriel mountains where she is learning to fall in love with the many wild others who also call this land home. She is a true "Wild Woman".  She and Emma talk about her journey from a conservative Christian upbringing to wild, embodied spirituality and Soul Companionship.
