The I AM Experiment

Episode Three: Meet A.G. Saño

Listen Later

Welcome to the third episode of the For Common Good Podcast, where I speak to cultural practitioners and creative change-makers from across the globe getting insight into their journeys, their work and also discussing ways to promote social change through the arts. Joining me today is A.G. Saño.

A.G. is a renowned and multi-awarded Filipino artist who has painted more than 700 murals in 16 countries depicting peace and environment. He graduated from Quezon City Science High School and finished Landscape Architecture in the University of the Philippines Diliman. He is a conservationist who has been involved in marine research since the year 2000, and a founding member of Balyena.org, a non-profit group focused on marine mammal research and conservation in the Philippines. He has also done assignments on sea turtles, dugong habitats, sharks and other environmental work with reputable NGO’s and institutions such as WWF, Greenpeace, OXFAM, RARE, Conservation International, Silliman University, LAMAVE, PFEC, among others.

A.G. is an advocate of BAYBAYIN, the (almost) lost and neglected ancient Filipino script/alphabet. He teaches willing learners, encourages its revival, and uses it in his artworks.
