Gigs, Guitars and Gender is a podcast that aims to explore the role gender plays in five music scenes across the United States Midwest. Host Abby Jeffers travels to Detroit, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Columbus to talk to musicians in each city about their experiences with gender.

This episode is set in the music scene in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Abby met with Cecilia from Het Ward to chat about the DIY music scene, Thomas of Jorts Season to talk tokenization and the lens of gender in interpreting music by queer artists and Tatiana of The Childlike Empress to hear more about tokenization and the racist and gendered interactions that they have experienced in Pittsburgh.
