The I AM Experiment

Episode Two - Meet Samantha Inarukundo

Listen Later

Welcome to the second episode of For Common Good Podcast, The Podcast, where I speak to cultural practitioners and creative change-makers from across the globe getting insight into their journeys, their work and also discussing ways to promote social change through the arts. Joining me today is Samantha Inarukundo.

A young Burundian entrepreneur and art lover with the conviction that art can be a catalyst for social cohesion, Samantha Inarukundo is the initiator of TwoFiveSeven Arts; an art enterprise that opened the first ever permanent art gallery in Burundi. Samantha launched TwoFiveSeven Arts with the mission to represent artists evolving in Burundi by assisting them in the production, showcasing and commercialisation of their artistic works and careers while also providing community outreach through its various artistic programs, events and artistic activities.

Samantha curates the works of art that she offers to collectors based, not merely on the quality of the art but also on the personal stories of the artists. She believes, in fact, that art becomes more relevant when we are able to understand the story behind the artist and their work.

Today, TwoFiveSeven Arts represents many of Burundi's most respected visual artists and emerging talents and focuses on the contemporary art of Burundian and foreign artists evolving in Burundi.
