In this episode we headed to the heart of the second city, Birmingham, where we spoke to Carl Hawkins aka The Gintleman UK.
We find out what motivated his alter ego and where his passion for gin came from, with a few gin stories thrown in for good measure. His time before he joined the industry and how he eventually co founded The Birmingham Association for Bartenders (BABs).
We’ll also get closer to what it’s like leaving the bar and becoming a brand ambassador and the pro and cons of working for yourself.
We asked Carl to pick a tune he would open his bar to and he selected Off The Wall by Michael Jackson.
We then asked Carl to pick a tune that he would close his bar to and he selected Style by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Bing Crosby.
Carl scored 10 in our quick fire round and overtakes Drew on our leader board.
