On October 13 1972, Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571 carrying 45 people crashed in the Andes mountain range. Over the next 72 day, one of the worlds most famous survival stories occurred. Face with certain death after the search and rescue is called off, those who were still alive had to eat the bodies of friends and family members to survive.
