The Enigma machine was an electromechanical device used extensively throughout WW2 to encrypt highly classified secret military messages and was thought to be unbreakable by the Nazi’s. The enigma messages were decoded by teams of mathematicians at Bletchley Park who helped to end the war early saving potentially 21 million lives.
