Rusul Alrubail is a professor of composition and literature. Rusul is extremely passionate about teaching & learning, student voice, professional development and being a connected educator. She believes in the power of students and tries to foster a common learning experience that benefits both students and teachers at large. Rusul strongly believes that students are empowered and inspired and have the power to translate their voice into meaningful words which, in turn, can change the way we look at the world.

A: Writeabout.

Q: First truly meaningful and inspiring book that you have read?
A: Les Miserables (In Arabic), when I was 8 years old.

A: I have heard so many, I can’t think of them right now.

A: Life will go on.

Q: Something that irks you, a pet peeve?
A: Negative Nancies

Q: One super power that you want to have?
A: Mind reading, but not all the time.

 Q: Favorite movie of 2014?
A: Planet of the Apes with James Franco.

Q; Something that you are willing to share that not many people know about you?
A: That English is actually my second language. I didn't speak it until I was 12 years old.

Q: In less than ten words how would you define "Success".
A: Success is what you make it to be.

Q: In less than ten words, define “Failure”.
A: Failure often leads to success because you learn from it - but don’t keep failing! 

Q; Two or three words that you dislike in the English language.
A: Innovation, such a buzz word. We need to define the terminologies that we use most of the time just so that they don't become cliches.

Q: Two or three words that you think have a negative connotation but shouldn’t?
A: I can't think of one to be honest - again failing!

Q: Define passion.
A: Passion is something that you feel fire about, something that makes you happy and something that drives you. If you are passionate about something, you'll wake up every morning being happy that you wake up this morning. It'll be the driver to your day.
