a situation in which an internet user encounters only information and opinions that conform to and reinforce their own beliefs, caused by algorithms that personalize an individual’s online experience.

所以Filter Bubble中的Bubble是沒特別含意的，所以Filter Bubble可以翻譯成「個人化資料過濾」，當網路上的資料經過這個Filter Bubble之後，就看到每個人應該看到的東西，當然這個所謂「應該看到的東西」，是Google、Facebook、Yahoo、New York Times這些網站認定的。

同溫層效應

2010 年，「Filter Bubble（過濾泡泡）」一詞被網路活動者 Eli Pariser 提出，這是一種網站針對個人化搜尋而提供篩選後內容的結果。當社群網站透過數據演算讓使用者越來越看不到自己不喜歡或不同意的觀點資訊時，我們每一天都被侷限於某種意識形態氣泡中，意指「同溫層」效應。
