I'm excited to introduce this week's guest, Eric Deeter. He’s an ultramarathon runner and mindset coach—two things I really love talking about. In this episode, we discuss what Eric calls the “100-mile mindset” or the “ultramarathon mindset.” This mindset, which is something that can be applied to all areas of life, embodies lessons learned from running ultramarathons. We discuss how to apply ultramarathon principles to life, such as making gradual progress, pacing, and managing energy and emotions. We also talk about how to pivot and troubleshoot while still keeping the end goal in mind. He’s also the host of The Ultramarathon Mindset Podcast. The mindset you need to run a 100-mile trail race is the same mindset that you need to break out of your limiting beliefs.
