Eric Spears got involved in racing Bmx in the 80's. He says BMX magazines got him hooked. His first race he got beat by his brother Tony. When he was young he did a lot of NBL racing. Eric says he knew early on that he wasn't going to be pro. But he always had a desire to contribute to the BMX culture. Eventually Eric and his brother decided to start their own product line. They started out with grips and came up with the name "Truth." They started out selling grips and then sold seat clamps and by 2014 they were selling frames. With over 150 frame companies the BMX market is competitive. Eric says word of mouth and Facebook has help his company grow. Eric even started his own bike shop called "Bike Connection." I recently spoke with Eric about the BMX industry, supply chain issues, and the future of Truth BMX.
