Genesis 46 in genesis 46. God speaks to Jacob in a vision, and he reassured him to not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for He will make him a great nation there and he will be with him. Jacob and all of his offspring went into the land of Egypt. Chapter 47 pharaoh welcomes Jacob he tells Joseph to settle his father and brothers in the best land of Goshen. After living in the land for 17 years Jacobs lifespan was 147 years he called upon Joseph, and told him to swear that he would bury him with his fathers, in Hebron in the cave of Machpelah.
