Ericka Nelson: Uniquely Enabled

Listen Later

For November 18, 2023, This is the RAIN Hamcast Podcast #101, voiced by Kent Peterson/KC0DGY.

[The running time for this RAIN Hamcast Podcast is 14M31S with timer resets approximately every 3 minutes.]

In May, 2022 a legally blind resident of Janesville, WI studied for and passed the Amateur Radio technician exam to become a ham. She's Ericka Nelson/KD9VBX. Ericka works for the Industries For The Blind in Janesville; has been married five years to Chad/WI9HF; and is referenced by at least one church friend as being "uniquely enabled". Ericka IS unique being a lady ham who is legally blind. RAIN's Hap Holly/KC9RP recently spoke with this energetic lady.

As a footnote: you can find Ericka and her hubby, Chad on their Janesville, WI. UHF repeater on 440-950 mHz 123.0 pl, 5 mHz up offset. Happy b-day, Ericka.
