Erika Kirk was supposed to walk into one of the largest megachurches in the country. Instead, they got a video. And if you watch that video closely, there's something in it that should have been a much bigger story.
This is the third event she's missed, and each time the explanation is different. Security threats. Scheduling conflicts. Low attendance. But the replacement is always the same: a pre-recorded video that can't be questioned or interrupted. What she said in this week's version crossed into territory that nobody seems to be talking about.
There is a woman from the 1980s who built one of the most powerful religious media empires in American history using the exact same emotional framework and donor loyalty playbook showing up in TPUSA content right now. She talked about resurrection when things looked bad. She made her audience feel personally responsible for whether she survived. It worked extraordinarily well ā until the gap between the performance and the actual finances got too wide to paper over, and the collapse was not quiet.
