7 I will declare the decree: Yehovah has said to Me, "You are My son, today I have begotten you.  8 Ask of Me and I will give you the nations for your inheritance and the ends of the earth for your possession.  9 You shall break them with a rod of iron; you shall dash them to pieces like a potter's vessel.'"

The Messiah's Triumph and Kingdom

1 Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing?  2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against Yehovah and against His Anointed, saying, 3 "Let us break Their bonds in pieces and cast away their cords from us."  4 He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; Yehovah shall hold them in derision.  5 Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and distress them in His deep displeasure: "Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion."

1 How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers!  2 But his delight is in the law of Yehovah, and in His law he meditates day and night.  3 He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its season and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers.  4 The wicked are not so, but they are like chaff which the wind drives away.  5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.  6 For Yehovah knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

The night watchmen found me as they made their rounds.  They beat and bruised me and stripped off my veil, those watchmen on the walls.  8. Make this promise, O women of Jerusalem - If you find my lover, tell him I am weak with love.

You hands made me and fashioned me; give me understanding, that i may learn your commandments. 74  May those who fear You see me and be glad, because I wait for Your word.  75 I know Yehovah, that Your judgements are righteous, and that in faithfulness You have afflicted me.  76 O may Your lovingkindness comfort me, according to Your word to Your servant.  77 may Your compassion come to me that I may live, for Your law is my delight.  78 may the arrogant be ashamed, for they subvert me with a lie, but I shall meditate on Your precepts.  79 May those who fear You turn to me, even those who know Your testimonies.  80 May my heart be blameless in Your statutes, so that I will not be ashamed.

Remember your promise to me; it is my only hope.  50 Your promise revives me; it comforts me in all my troubles.  51 The proud hold me in utter contempt, but I do not turn away from Your instructions.  52 I meditate on Your age-old regulations; Yehovah they comfort me.  53 I became furious with the wicked, because they reject Your instructions.  54 Your decrees have been the theme of my songs wherever I have lived.  55 I reflect at night on who You are Yehovah; therefore, I obey Your instructions.  56 This is how I spend my life:  obeying Your commandments

Deal bountifully with Your servant, that I may live and keep Your word. 18 Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things from Your law.  19 I am a stranger in the earth; do not hide Your commandments from me.  20 My soul breaks with longing for Your judgments at all times.  21 You rebuke the proud - the cursed, who stray from Your commandments.  22 Remove from me reproach and contempt, for I have kept Your testimonies.  23 Princes also sit and speak against me, but Your servant meditates on Your statutes.  24 Your testimonies also are my delight and my counselors.

My Heart is Meek

A Psalm of Ascent

1 Yehovah, my heart is meek before you.  I don't consider myself better than others.  I'm content to not pursue matters that are over my head - such as your complex mysteries and wonders - that I'm not yet ready to understand.  2 I am humbled and quieted in your presence.  Like a contented child who rests on its mother's lap, I'm your resting child and my soul is content in you.  3 O people of God, your time has come to quietly trust, waiting upon Yehovah now and forever.
