Esp 051 Start Up Grind U at WSU Takes Off With
Join us in the interview as we talk with two very dynamic college students, Jessica Aldrich and Christian Ammerman, co founders of a chapter of Startup Grind U at Wichita State University.
Start UP Grind is a global organization promoting entrepreneurism and now has university chapters, among the first to be started was the chapter at Wichita State University. Jake Wayman, the chapter director of the local Start-up Grind Wichita got together with Biomedical engineering graduate student Jessica Aldrich and Christian Ammerman, an undergrad student, to lead the way in bringing StartUp Grind U to Wichita State.
StartUp Grind was started by Google for Entrepreneurs and is a global startup community designed to educate, inspire and connect entrepreneurs.
Entrepreneurship and innovation are near and dear to Jessica, one of a handful of WSU students chosen as a University Innovation Fellow, a global community of students leading a movement to ensure that all students gain the necessary attitudes, skills and knowledge required to compete in the economy of the future. Jessica recently completed her Masters degree at WSU and is now starting a PhD program at Florida State University.
Christian Ammerman, is student at Wichita State University studying Secondary English Education and English Literature with a minor in Graphic Design and is al a University Innovation Fellow. Christian is now a co-director with Maggie Brown, and will be running the program at WSU this fall.
Join Startup Grind Wichita for it’s next event, Aug. 29th to hear Dr. Gene Zaid, founder of Genzada Pharmaceuticals. The event starts at 5:30 and will be held at the Wichita State Experiential Engineering building.
