A slave was once considered a piece of property with no rights, and was to maintain an attitude of inferiority and subservience. Sadly, this is similar to many people’s idea of biblical submission in marriage. But Christian husbands are not to be tyrants ruling over their wives with an iron fist  –  instead, they are to manifest the same attitude that Jesus has toward His Bride, the church.
