Essential Oils vs Fragrance Oils in Candles

Depending on the type of plant, extraction can prove to be quite complex. While most essential oils are produced by steam or water distillation, citrus oils are cold-pressed, a process that extracts oils from apples and blueberries. The nature of complex essential oils makes it difficult to restore the more fragrant components of an essential oil.


Essential oils are not the best choice for the production of candles because they produce less fragrance, burn faster and evaporate faster than scented oils. On the other hand, fragrance oils have a better amount of smell to repel and require less concentration than essential oils.


Since scented candles are made of paraffin wax and scented oils, synthetic fragrances tend to be easier to create when it comes to releasing the best hot fragrances. If you have sworn to determine your birthday or dinner, you will be torn between the use of fragrance oils and essential oil.
