Essential Workers Podcast

I took a week off from the podcast because I’m an essential worker and I needed som R & R. Back at it with a mini episode of Essentials Talk, more full episodes coming soon!

For this episode I talked to 2 essential workers, one essential worker who contracted Covid this summer at his job. Our second guest caller I talk to an essential worker who has a background in medical studies and talks about what he knows about Covid.

What does electricity and the shipping industry have in common? The electronics we use and charge that we use daily for podcasting and multiple other uses. See what Ryan and Adam have to say about what it’s been like being and essential worker.

A shorter episode where I read through 10 group member testimonials from the Facebook group GIVE ESSENTIAL WORKERS ESSENTIAL PAY.

For the first caller I talk to long time Facebook group member and supporter Mia in California who’s an essential worker that has been on double duty and working 2 jobs since the pandemic started. After I talk to Mia I head back over to upstate NY and talk to Rick, who talks to us about his frustrations of being an essential worker and the struggle of being a parent while also being an essential worker.

Today I talked to Wisdom and “V” who have worked throughout the Covid pandemic. Both callers express their feelings about the essential workforce and what their job is like as an essential worker “behind the scenes.”

10 more essential worker stories from the essential worker group on Facebook GIVE ESSENTIAL WORKERS ESSENTIAL PAY. Today I read though some frustrations and read through a couple testimonies of how the working class need to unite as one and fight for what the essential workers deserve.

I always love talking to front line workers from the grocery stores for the podcast, but it was a trip talking to butcher Chris about how the pandemic has effected him and his department at the deli at a grocery store in Florida. After Chris and I are finished, I talk to Spenser who works at a recycling plant in the finger lakes that handles medical waste and other sorts of unique special wastes.

For today’s episode I talked to my very close personal friend Jay and Jenna, a woman I recently started collaborating with on social media. Jay and Jenna both have a lot in common about how they feel about corporate greed, and how they’re spending their free time and talent to build their side hustles to hopefully be able to do what they love full time.

It’s Wednesday! Which means it’s time for the midweek mini episode of Essentials Talk, where I take 10 group member stories from the Facebook group GIVE ESSENTIAL WORKERS ESSENTIAL PAY and read them on here so people can understand why essential workers are so frustrated. I also talk about Chris Hyzy’s Essential Workers Unite Rally in Dallas TX on Saturday September 19th at noon at city hall.
