What “good” is the most trustworthy?
Getting the “essentials” of faith wrong sets us up to fail at what matters most in life.
God is Completely Good
Humanity is Fatally Flawed
Jesus is Essential
Eternal Life is Relational not Religious
Jesus is the BEST authority on who God truly is!
If we want to see God, we must look at Christ!
What “good” is the most trustworthy?
light/dark - oceans/land - vegetation/own kind - sun/moon/stars - sea creatures/birds - animals/Mankind
And God saw that it was good.
- Genesis 1
…in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them…fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature.
- Genesis 1:27 & 28
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
- John 3:16-17
“As bad as you are, you know how to give good things to your children. How much more, then, will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!”
- Matthew 7:11
God is Completely good
God the Father has repeatedly shown his love and character so that we will trust Him for our own good.
God is OTHER:
He is LIFE giving
He is radically GENEROUS
He is pure LOVE
God’s goodness in Jesus proves He is worthy of our complete trust
