Where do you find your self-worth? Do you find it in your work, your achievements, your friends or family? There are many things that we may look to for value and meaning. When it comes to your standing before God, what do you rely on? Do you look to your morality, church attendance, or community service for worth before Him? In 1 Chronicles 17:16-27 king David recognizes that his worth and value come from God. It was God who exalted king David and it was God who made and fulfilled His promises to him. Knowing that God establishes us firmly in Him by grace through faith, we can confidently draw near to Him in prayer. We know how the story ends and we know that God keeps His promises, let us place our worth in the One who gave His life for us and promises us a future with Him.
