Host Brian Buckley interviews Estelle Barber, Business Manager at Animal Place, a unique organization caring for hundreds of large and small rescued animals in Nevada County. She also has an extensive background volunteering for at least14 other nonprofits in our community. From a “Mayberry” town in North Carolina, Estelle came to California in 1980, and passing through L. A. and San Francisco, found a very different world in Nevada City for raising her three sons. She enjoys the fact that nonprofit work means one never sticks to one’s job description; now and then she gets to clean stalls and feed animals in addition to her administrative duties!
