In Mark 10:17–31, a wealthy and moral man runs to Jesus asking about eternal life, but walks away sorrowful when told to surrender the one thing he truly worships — his wealth. Eternal life is only available through the true rich, young, ruler, Jesus, who left the wealth and glory of heaven to follow the will of his Father in order to save us.  The call is clear and urgent: you cannot serve both God and money, so don’t walk away from Christ clinging to what cannot save — come, follow Him, and gain eternal life.
