On May 1st, 2002, Evelyn Hernandez went about her day normally. Evelyn was a single mother of a 5-year-old boy, Alex, and was 38 weeks pregnant with her second child. On this day, she dropped her son off at daycare, then spent the rest of the day running errands, mostly in preparation for her upcoming baby shower. Later that day, she picked up her son from daycare, and this was the last time she or her son would ever be seen.
