Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. — James 1:5

God gives liberally and doesn't upbraid. He doesn't scold us for asking. When the woman caught in adultery stood before Jesus, He didn't condemn her. The free gift is not like the trespass — the judgment followed one trespass and brought condemnation, but the free gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. God, rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in trespasses.
