And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed. He will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” — Genesis 3:15

The woman's Seed will crush the serpent's head. This is the first Gospel promise—the protoevangelion. Isaiah 53:5 shows the crushing: the Servant was marred and wounded for our transgressions. Jesus saying "this is your hour and the power of darkness" as He's arrested. The Son of God appeared to destroy the devil's works.
