For you did not receive a spirit of slavery that returns you to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” — Romans 8:15
The Spirit of adoption, by which we cry, "Abba, Father". Not slaves anymore, but sons. Jesus praying to the Father for His own. Jesus in Gethsemane crying "Abba, Father"—the same Spirit now puts that cry in your mouth. Because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying "Abba, Father. Is the prodigal's return, and the Father runs to meet him.
