Because the LORD kept a vigil that night to bring them out of the land of Egypt, this same night is to be a vigil to the LORD, to be observed by all the Israelites for the generations to come. — Exodus 12:42

That Passover night in Egypt was a night to be remembered. The Lord brought His people out by blood and by power. But there's another night to remember — the night when Christ was betrayed, when He took bread and broke it, saying, "This is my body" (1 Cor. 11:23-25). The Passover lamb that saved Israel was a shadow.
