David knew that weight, and he cried out for mercy, not because he deserved it but because the Lord is good. And what a reply Scripture gives: God blots out your transgressions like a thick cloud, casting all your sins into the depths of the sea. Christ Himself has washed you from your sins in His own blood, so you can rest — your past is covered, not because you've made up for it, but because He has.
