Vainglory is the air we naturally breathe—we want to be noticed, applauded, seen as important. But Gideon's ephod became a snare to him and his house. Paul counted everything as loss for the excellence of knowing Christ Jesus, and we are called to the same mind. In humility, count others more significant than yourselves; that is the mind of Christ.
