Therefore if you have any encouragement in Christ, if any comfort from His love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, — Philippians 2:1

Paul appeals to everything that makes the christian life sweet: consolation in Christ, comfort of love, fellowship of the spirit, affection and mercy. These aren't abstract ideas—they're real experiences we share in Christ. And notice: all of it comes from outside you. It's in Christ, through love, by the spirit. You don't manufacture it; you receive it.
