Truly, truly, I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. If you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them. — John 13:16,17

After Jesus washed his disciples' feet, he made the point clear: the servant isn't greater than his master. If the Lord of the universe stooped to wash dirty feet, we have no business thinking we're too good for the lowliest task. True greatness in the kingdom is measured by how low you're willing to go, and he's the pattern—he got on his knees first.
