So Jesus replied, “Truly, truly, I tell you, the Son can do nothing by Himself, unless He sees the Father doing it. For whatever the Father does, the Son also does. — John 5:19
The Son does exactly what he sees the Father doing—nothing more, nothing less. Jesus isn't acting independently; his works are the Father's works, his words the Father's words. This perfect unity is why we can trust Christ completely: in him we see the Father's heart made visible. Every miracle, every teaching is the Father's own work through the Son.
