“For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living water, and they have dug their own cisterns—broken cisterns that cannot hold water. — Jeremiah 2:13

God calls himself the fountain of living waters, and yet his people go looking for broken cisterns that hold nothing—what foolishness! With you is the fountain of life, and Jesus stands and cries out, 'if anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink'. The water he gives becomes a spring welling up to eternal life, and you don't have to pay for it—come, buy without money.
