About Amy Jones McGreevy: Amy was born in Atlanta, GA, and spent much of her childhood at her family’s place on the Chattahoochee River near West Point, GA. She is a graduate of Agnes Scott College and holds a graduate degree from Emory University. She taught high school in Atlanta and met a young Army officer there named Ken McGreevy on a blind date; they were married in 1954.

Ken and Amy moved to Charleston, where they brought up their two children, Brian and Maribeth, before Ken’s career as an insurance executive took them to New Jersey after the children were grown. They returned to Charleston and to St. Philip’s in 2015. In 2019,  after 64 years of marriage, Ken passed away.

Always active in the church, Amy has led women’s groups and served in leadership of church women at the parish and diocesan level in several states, as well as serving as a layreader and with altar guild and flower guild.  An avid reader, she still maintains an active devotional life and assists with leading chapel services at Sandpiper/Cooper River Villages. She is the happy matriarch of her family, which now includes seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She celebrates her 96th birthday in May.
