Unless our righteousness exceeds that of the Scribes and the Pharisees, we will never enter the kingdom of heaven. At a minimum, this statement of Jesus' should make us sit up and pay attention. How can anyone fulfil such a requirement-- What hope do we have-- And there's no -cheating- allowed by relaxing any of God's commandments. Our only hope is Jesus Christ, who has come to fulfill the Law and the Prophets- every last detail of them. What a gracious gift this is- that in Him, we should become the very righteousness of God- Praise the Lord-
