This week, the camera is turning back toward the OG main character for two stories Holly considered telling in Season One - but wasn’t ready to share.
We’re talking catfishing. Producer Pete joins Holly as she revisits how an online relationship became something far more complicated and harmful, why the circumstances of her life at the time made her especially vulnerable, and the things she understands very differently looking back as an adult.
Content warning: This episode includes conversations about grooming, sexual assault, and other difficult subject matter. Please take care of yourself while listening.

This mission, if you choose to accept it, is unlike any EKBM mission we’ve had before…and it’s top secret.
After his grandfather died, comedian Hunter Hill and his sister started digging into the life of the quiet man they knew from childhood. What they uncovered led them down a rabbit hole of top-secret government missions and an era-defining history they were the first in their family to uncover.
Hunter joins Holly to talk about discovering his grandpas double life, breaking the news to his own family, and why he decided to make a podcast about all of it. Cough WE GET IT *cough*

You asked, we answered - this week is all listener stories, and you really came through with the wildest sibling revelations, secret family drama and EKBM level dysfunction that made us all collectively Home Improvement grunt. Holly and partner-in-crime Producer Pete read them aloud with licensed therapist, author, and creator of The Siblinghood Theory, Minaa B. Together, the three of us dig into the stories you’ve been sending us all year. Minaa is here to help us understand what might actually be happening underneath them all, and Pete and Holly are your proxies - just two little rascals and silly billies who cope through jokes.

Award-winning journalist, podcast host, and digital activist Bridget Todd has spent years examining how technology shapes our lives. Then in 2025, within an incredibly short period of time, Bridget’s mom died suddenly and she became a caregiver for her seriously ill dad. She was grieving, overwhelmed, and suddenly responsible for navigating an endless list of medical, insurance, and caregiving decisions. And that’s when an AI critic turned to AI. Bridget’s experience inspired her new audiobook, Love at First Prompt: AI and the Future of Intimacy , which investigates something that sounds like science fiction but is very much already here: people turning to AI for romance, friendship, therapy, companionship and emotional support. And she joins Holly to talk about losing the people you love, wondering who would actually show up for you in a crisis, and finding yourself reaching for comfort somewhere you NEVER thought you would.

A lot of you probably think your parents are a little annoying, or even kinda overbearing. But how far would they have to go for you to decide to cut them off completely? Growing up, that was a question writer Gabrielle Moss had no idea she could even consider, because it seemed like there was no limit to the toxic behavior her mom and dad were willing to exhibit. Then, as she outlined in her mega-viral 2018 article for Bustle, one day Gabrielle decided enough was enough, and immediately felt freer than she ever had in her life before. Gabrielle joins Holly to remind everyone that a relationship being important doesn’t automatically make it healthy. And when the person crossing your boundaries is the person you’ve been taught you're never supposed to walk away from…you definitely still can.

Emmy-nominated writer and comedian Laurie Kilmartin spent 11 years making Conan O’Brien laugh, made the entire country laugh on Last Comic Standing, Comedy Central and The Late Late Show. But what did she do when her father was dying in hospice? She made herself laugh, live-tweeting the dark and absurd reality of his final days to the entire world and wrote an entire stand-up special about it. Laurie joins Holly to talk about finding the funny in grief, losing both of their parents, and all the bizarre things nobody prepares you for. This is the episode you should hear long before you think you’ll need it - because sometimes finding the funny in the most painful, inappropriate moments is exactly what gets us through them.

Series Description: After a contentious divorce, Cindy was ready to begin again. To her surprise, she found a new partner, Kenny. Days after their engagement came a devastating allegation that Kenny abused her 9-year-old son. To Cindy, the facts behind the accusation didn’t add up. She believed the claims had less to do with reality, and more to do with retribution by her ex-husband. As the allegation tore her family apart, Cindy faced an impossible choice: stand by her child or stand by what she believed to be the truth. Her decision led to years of frustrating court battles and a war over what really happened. In the third season of Burden of Guilt, one family’s painful unraveling raises difficult questions about loyalty, manipulation, and what happens when the people you love no longer agree on what is true.
