DISCLAIMER: Hot Topic. This is our personal opinions after doing our own research on the topics discussed.
BUT, just in case anyone needed a reminder. Yoga is NOT a religion. Yoga is a practice, a discipline you may say. EVERYbody can practice yoga, regardless your background.
YOU make yoga what it means to you. Whatever that may look like, it is up to you to interpret it and blend it into your life. The episode really speaks for itself.
Better question, is why not?
Just like you would go to a personal trainer, a nutritionist, or any other service that provides one on one services. It's an opportunity to get to know what works for YOUR body.
You can only learn so much in a large group setting. Now don't get me wrong, group settings are a wonderful way to learn new things and realize this that interest you, it has its place. Private sessions can help you take what you've seen and turn it into reality without all the frustration that may happen along the way. Let us help you learn from OUR mistakes guiding you through all the alignment cues, engagement cues and break them all down to fit YOUR body. Yes, yoga is for every body, but every body's body works differently.
Episode 20 we decided to discuss the two types of assists in yoga—supportive and those that deepen poses. He believes that both have their place in a class but emphasizes that communication is key. This respect for personal boundaries fosters trust between teacher and student, allowing for a more enriching practice. We believe that there is a longing for positive physical interaction is a sentiment shared by many, especially in vulnerable spaces like yoga. The conversation moves towards the importance of creating an environment where students feel safe to accept or decline touch. What do you think about hands on assists? What are your favorites, least favorites? #yoga #podcast #yogalife
It's time..... we think, to start thinking bigger. We wanted to give a quick little video about the plans we have for the upcoming few weeks as well as some of the obstacles we are facing. Even with these growing pains, we remain open and ready to receive all things heading our way. We believe we are the creators of this beautiful world we live in and want to share our studio community with it. Stay tuned for upcoming growth, as we embark on this new journey together! A whole new virtual world come soon to you!
In a world of chaos, having as many tools as possible to navigate life's challenges shouldn't be something you have to limit.
On this episode we talk about the ways that yoga has helped, and continues to help our mental wellbeing, on and off the mat. How the breath and the invitation to sit in the discomfort gives us the power to stay in the present moment to face the obstacles in front of us.
One of the, we are sure, many conversations on the subject. This tool can be added to any other ways you are choosing to get yourself moving forward to find that 900 vibration. What are some ways that you have found yoga has helped you in the hard times?
Mikal has been passionate about this one for a few weeks now.
When's the last time you allowed yourself to talk off your hats, badges, and masks? Who is the person underneath it all when you strip away all the titles you wear throughout your day? When is the last time you allowed yourself to just be YOU.
Walking into the studio doors is an opportunity for you to let go of all expectations from the world you live outside those doors and to arrive just as you are, a human being. No judgements, no shoulda, coulda, woulda's. Just you and your mat (and maybe a few props lol).
This episode we dive a little deeper into Mikal's Friday morning intention:
"Imagine, stopping at the front door, removing your badges and hats. Roll out your mat and allow just yourself to step onto it. This hour is just for you, for who YOU want to show up as."
