Listen Later

Hello friends, I am Sayan Dey, currently working as a Lecturer in Department of English, Royal University of Bhutan and in this introductory episode I am going talk about my upcoming podcast series project titled ‘Everyday Decoloniality: A Multicultural Initiative.’

So, what is the central purpose of this project? What am I going to do in this podcast series? This initiative in India looks forward to engage discussions, debates, arguments and counter-arguments regarding the importance of decolonial thinking and doing in contemporary India. When several ex-colonies across the world have been consistently fighting against the still persistent social, cultural, religious, political, geographical and economic dominations by the colonial-western and colonially influenced westernized nation-states across the globe, India, somewhat, is still lagging behind in this collective exercise.

Though, over the last decade, India has been making efforts towards decolonizing their regular modes of existence, yet it has remained limited within specific religious, social, cultural, communal and academic spaces. Therefore, this podcast series looks forward to make an effort to disrupt these narrow compartments of ideological engagements and develop a transcultural, transcontinental and collective platform of decolonial thinking and doing for every individuals in India who are already engaged or who wishes to engage with decoloniality.
