Racism is, unfortunately, a very real thing in the United Kingdom. As this is one of the first episodes of The Sussex Way and I'm aware a lot of the world's media are making judgments about British people being racist - I wanted to share my experience. I was born and raised here in England, I grew up in a village in Oxfordshire, my family was one of the very few ethnic minorities, so what was our experience?

The duke and duchess of Sussex aka Sussex Royal aka Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are about to embark on a whole new chapter of their lives. The Sussex Way podcast was born out of my frustration for people not talking about taboo subjects - what has happened to Meghan and Harry should have opened up discussions about postnatal depression, mental health, the challenge of marrying into a family with a different background. The list really is endless about all the things the world should be talking about right now BUT so many still want to focus on the showbiz element of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
I really want to emphasize this podcast isn't an 'update' show where I tell you everything about Sussex Royal and it's not about negativity or commentary on the duke and duchess of Sussex. Instead, we shine a light on taboo topics and give a voice to the 'everyday' people of society that have been through similar challenges.
Our current website is http://sussexroyalpodcast.com - I know it's very close to the trademark of the couple, so please subscribe to 'The Sussex Way' and you'll be notified of all our forthcoming episodes
