In Paul's letter to the Colossians, he paints the big picture of who Jesus is, and the all encompassing truth of the Gospel, calling the believers there as he calls us today to keep the big picture always in the front of our mind. Our suffering in this world - with the context of the Cross and Resurrection in plain view - lets us see the purpose of bringing the fullness of Christ to the world and realizing that the Hope of Glory is actually in us.  The truth of easter, death and resurrection, covering and reconciliation is meant to be the daily reality that we walk in, not just a special occasion we remember once a year.
