We’re all familiar with the Mad Scientist stereotype. Hair freshly styled by sticking a fork in an outlet. Lab coat stained with potentially radioactive fluids. Thick safety glasses shielding maniacally wide eyes but not the extremely bushy eyebrows destined to be burnt off in the near future. Maybe an assistant named Pinky or Igor, an evil laugh and a plot to take over the world. But we’re all probably less familiar with some of the unusual experiments conducted in the name of science.
