The coming wave of electric vehicles will impact how insurance companies price their automotive insurance policies in the near future.  The challenges are many - for example - should a car line that offers traditional gasoline engine, hybrid  and  pure electric powered models across its model line, be priced the same when it comes to insuring them?  Also, while the level of safety equipment is typically greater in the new EVs, so is the complexities when it comes to accidents and repairs.  Which should receive more weight when considering pricing an automotive insurance policy?
